Prey 2022 review: Continuing the essence of the series

Everything you see in the “Prey” movie is about hunting, and the killing frenzy, just like the name of the movie! From a chronological point of view, it is the first time that alien predators came to Earth to hunt and confront the tribes of the 18th century. The story is refreshing. If you’ve seen the “Predator” movie before, you at least have an idea of where it’s headed. Our heroes will encounter predators, predators will kill many people and creatures, and eventually humanity will use everything it has learned about aliens to face the greatest threat in the galaxy.

Prey 2022 review

One of the best parts of the movie is seeing alien technology against these weapon-wielding natives, who have no firepower or guns, just arrows and battle axes. You might think that means the Aboriginal people will be slaughtered immediately, but they are a resourceful person.

While there’s an entire tribe of people in the film, the focus is on Naru (Amber Midthunder) and her brother Taabe (Dakota Beavers). It was very exciting to see the protagonist’s coming-of-age hunt. Naru and Taabe’s relationship is one of mutual respect and playful rivalry. When it comes to visuals and sets, Prey is really good. The film is a true record of past history, and even stories from French fur hunters, which have important ties to the franchise.

Prey is similar enough to the previous film, Predator, but different enough. “Prey” looks more primitive, has some jumping fear, and is very energetic throughout.

The 2022 movie “Prey” is only 90 minutes long, and the pace is good. It also has slow moments, especially in the beginning. Once the plot reaches the hunt, more than an hour of viewing time seems to fly by. With some small action sequences interspersed throughout the film and not much dialogue to get in the way, the story fits perfectly with the Predator series and is sure to keep viewers immersed throughout.

The plot of the movie doesn’t have much substance and is very basic and predictable. But attractive at the same time, especially when it comes to killing, isn’t that what the Predator movie is all about? The film may not win any awards and may even be forgotten, but it’s still worth watching.

Naru, played by Amber Midthunder, takes on a lot of the film, and she’s so good that all eyes will be on her. Naru is a powerful warrior who proves himself by fighting and hunting.

Prey is the best predator and prey movie ever, with stunning visuals and some truly epic action scenes with weapons and combat that fans are familiar with. It’s not perfect, but it’s much better than the recent Predator 4.

The clever thing about director Trachtenberg and screenwriter Patrick Aison is that the movie is not set in a big city, not in a giant temple, but in a primitive hunting culture. Combining great lead performances, grand cinematography, a sharp script and a rousing soundtrack, the production is subtly adjusted to the scene. Prey is a glorious monster movie, and Trachtenberg directed one of the best films in years.
